I finally got my new M&P 9mm full size to the range. I must say, I am both impressed at the performance and my judgment. When I bought it, I had gone to Bud's to pick up a Sigma. After expressing my doubts about the feel and trigger, I was shown the M&P for $399. I held it, and it was a no-brainer.
Anyway, after the first couple of rounds (flyers while adjusting to the trigger)
7 yds 1.5" to 2"groups
15 yds 3" groups
Did some plinking at bottles at 25 yds from the bench & did pretty darn good. Not as good as with the Uberti 1873 .45 Colt I also used, but still decent.
All in all, I'd say I'll probably be carrying the M&P more than the 1911
