They will be combined with Limited and Revolver this time -

I wonder if I go camp outside the USPSA offices now, if i'll be first in line for Production registration.

I mean, it works for the guys wanting PS3 and Wiis!

No need to do all that - just get signed up fast enough via the USPSA website when they open it up for extra slots -
I should probably send them money first and get an ID number. I've been shooting USPSA since July and still havent gotten around to it. Oh, all those wasted classifiers!

Besides, i'm not brave enough yet to go make a fool of myself at Nationals.

don't worry about how you'll look - the vast majority of shooters are C and B class shooters. I shot my first nationals in 94 as a C class shooter - placed 129th but won 3rd in C class. That was probably the funnest nationals I've shot - it was certainly the most exciting. I've shot many since then but my point here is don't let the fact that you're just now starting out scare you away from a great shooting experience. You have plenty of time to get classified - Hope to see you there next year.
Dude, I started in 94 and shot my first Nats in 95!!

I SUCKED!! at both Open and Limited that year, but I had fun!!

I bet the Berms/Levys are going to look great!! All that Sod is going to be thick and nice.

Did you notice that the Multi-Gun nats is going to be in Tulsa too??

It's only a 6 hour drive for me, I'll be there whether I'm working it (photography) or not, I really want to shoot this match, my good buddy, a revolver shooter will be there too, I's going to be fun!!

Also, the other Nats (Open/Limited10) is going to be in Montana in June.

Yeah, I bet the berms, range, etc., will look awesome next year. I'm really looking forward to going back again. I'm actually glad that the Production rotation is back in Tulsa rather than Montana - Logistically, it's an easier trip for me from Austin. I think it took us about 8 hours or so to drive up.

I'm glad it stayed at Tulsa too, Great range, not that Montana isn't, but Tulsa is only 6 Hours for me.

See you there, maybe we can squad together!!

Bryan,

I'll PM you in a few days with a update on our MP transition, everything good so far.
We should make a Squad of M&P Shooters!!

I would not have a problem with that, but I wont be shooting my MP, I'll be shooting my CZ. Sorry.

Why, are you sponsored by CZ??

YOu won't be at a disadvantage with the M&P!!

got one of those SP01's myself - they are great shooters. I just sold mine last week - had the Angus upgrades, etc.., It was a tad heavy for me, but a great shooter. I can't really find any significant differences in shooting performance between this gun and the M&P right now.

K - have you had any problems with the mags not dropping from your CZ?

Sounds like a great plan - will you be providing the official photos for the squad?

Absolutely!!

I did when I shot the 2000 Limited Nationals and the 2004 Nationals with the ladies Super Squad!!

The only problem is that when I shoot with the Ladies Squad, I have to change my name to Yazmin!!

The MecGar mags yes, they feed great, but dont want to drop free, however, the SP01 mags from factory (18 or 19 rounders) are perfect, drop free, feed great and very fast for reloading, so I stick with those. I didnt have any malfunctions of any kind at Nats w/ my SP01. We did have a few on my squad that shot Glocks and I saw them having issues, but mine ran flawless. Mine has fun flawless for quite a while now.

I will say, last night during one of our dept transition classes, I was running some 3 shot drills w/ my personal MP9 and at very low light and about as fast as I could hose and the MP was shooting pretty damn nice. I put about 200 rounds into a target and they grouped about half the size of the circle in the IDPA target from 10 yards. My MP9 is at 700 rounds and counting w/ no malfunctions of any kind.

yseud,

Sorry for the double post, but I accidentally hit the enter button before adding in my reply for yseud. No, I'm not sponsored by CZ, yet, but hopefully getting there soon. Dont get me wrong, I really like my MP, but I love shooting my SP01's they just really fit me well. Nice thing is that I can play w/ my MP at work or in IDPA and still shoot my CZ in USPSA and dont have to worry about the grip angle issue.

I like the SP01- it feels great and shoots great. I've been using a few benchmark drills to test the various production guns I've shot this past year and the CZ did well on all of them. Not necessarily the best but very good. Regarding your MP runs mentioned above I've run several Bill Drills with mine at various distances and the results have been pretty impressive. I'm not ready [yet] to say this is the best production gun I've shot, but it's getting pretty close. Of all the guns shot so far I've shot the best EL PREZ run with the M&P. Also, I've shot the fastest plate rack runs at 11yds and one of the best 25 yard groups with a production type gun--with the M&P. And, I don't even have a decent set of sights on it yet - I still need to shoot this gun in a few matches to see how it all shakes out, but right now I am liking the M&P a lot. For a $400 out the door pistol there isn't anything close, IMO. I've tested and shot matches with the Glock 17 and 34 - Beretta 92G Elite II; and the CZ SP-01. I've also tested the XD9 Tactical but haven't shot any matches with that one - I wasn't impressed with it at all.

Bryan,

Im the same way, the XD's just didnt do anything for me and you're right, for $400 gun, nothing compares to the MP. For me to get the CZ to where it needs to be and for me, better than the MP, Im WAY above $400.
