I contacted S&W and asked if a .357Sig barrel was available for a .40SW MP40c. The answer was not at this time. Maybe some day.

But on the S&W site, the MP .357Sig compact is shown ( http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/sto...amp;isFirearm=Y ).

It would seem that if your ordered the .357Sig barrel, not shown on the S&W pistol parts list you would be able to drop it into a MP40c and fire .357Sig rounds. My 40c mags are stamped with both calibers so they would work.

What does Dr. Smith think?

I'm sure they will in time. M&P 357Sig pistols have yet to hit the store shelves. I know a few have made it out of the factory; but just a few. It's been like pulling teeth to get striker assemblies and other small parts from S&W. I think we have finally fixed that problem. But getting a M&Pc 357Sig barrel might be another story.

The reason I said this is b/c S&W will make the barrels to ship out in complete guns first. If they are not shipping out complete guns, then I don't see them selling individual barrels.

Here is the number if you want to try to order a barrel from S&W: 800-331-0852

I guess I should have been a little clearer.. You are correct, if you want one right now from S&W you will not get one because as Yukon stated all parts for compacts are being consumed to make guns. Eventually <--Note.... you should be able to get one after they have been out for a while. Until then you are out of luck unless you know someone from S&W.

Looked Around

Thanks for the input.

I have chatted with the "usual suspects" Brownell's et al and no one has a .357Sig barrel for the 40c.

So the wait will continue.

Sorry about the confusion. I should have been more clear also.
