In my quest to pry info for the 45 about release dates, and so on. I didn't get very far, but what I did get was:

"Sorry John, I really can't say anything about the 45. It will be similar to the 40 but with an additional feature. (think frame 1911)"

I was talking to my buddies last night about the M&P. They handled an early M&P .45 prototype and said that it did have a thumb safety. For what it's worth back then they heard that it would be out in January.

One of the early magazine articles on the M&P mentioned that various trigger groups were under consideration. The first one implemented was the DAO Striker.

One could infer that there will be different trigger groups available in the future. (Think H&K)
Has it been confirmed yet if the M&P will be .45ACP or is there still a chance they might go GAP?
.45ACP. Glock can’t even sell GAP.
True, but they do give them away to LEA's to make it look like it is a winner like nobody's buisness.
