Plenty of different caliber weapons around the house, and the 9mm was bought as a teaching tool/range gun.

However all my guns are stored ready for defensive deployment. As a new 9mm owner I could use some suggestions on a good 9mm cartridge for CCW/home defense.

Many thanks.

I'm pleased with the velocities turned in by Winchester's RA9TA 127-gr +P+ load, and it's held to expand decently and penetrate well. It's what I use in my more "rugged" 9mms. I use Speer 147-gr Gold Dots in the older guns.

Are these the prices on 20 round boxes? I understand the Ranges T is a great load but the Speer Gold Dot is just as good and I can pick up an box of 50 .40cal (any weight) for $17. so I will be sticking with them. Let me know about the box size OK. Thanks

I can buy ranger talons cheaper than that. How do they rate against hydra's?

Hydrashocks are notoriuos for nt opening up on contact. Try puuting ten through water filled milk jugs at 10 yards and 6 won't open up. Talons are better, but Corbon and Gold Dots's are the best out there for 9mm.

Have delt with him a few times and have had great transactions. The boxes are for 50 rounds (except the 12 gauge and .223).

I use his RA9T for my main carry loads.
