I've noticed that some members have 2 of the same gun (like 2 M&P 40's). What is the reason behind that for you who do? For me, I've been wanting a pair of like guns simply because I always thought it would be kind of neat. Silly reason, I know. But I'm curious if anyone else thinks the same way, or has other reason(s) for it. Thanks.

One reason. I like a back up.

Reason 2. I like to have my carry gun the way I like it. If I shoot IDPA or something, they don't like my gun(go figure its a carry gun) I have my backup I use for target and IDPA/IPSC.

Not to hijack, but its stupid for IDPA to put restrictions on pistols, when the mods make it better for carry.

I'll have a compact later.

I stick with the 40 S&W because I reload for it only, and have alot of rounds bulked up. Keep it simple stupid(KISS)

Backup!!

If I'm at an IPSC or IDPA Match and my Primary gun takes a Poop, I have an identical gun that I can finish the match with!!

USPSA/IPSC Rules state that if I change guns, it must not give me a competitive Advantage!! So... Get an identical gun!!

My problem now is that my primary has been worked on by Dan Burwell!! It's sooooo sweet!!!

I must send my backup for the Dan treatment!! A sweet Trigger job and a Speed Shooters Specialties FO Front Sight!! I alsready have a First Generation Burwell rear Sight on both of my M&P's.
