Arredondo just annouced a magazine basepad extension for the M&P series. Adds 6 in 9mm or 5 in 40SW per Ralph who said that they are similar to the XD extensions.

It's for the 15 rounders to make the USPSA 140mm max mag length rule. Or at lest that's what they were saying a couple weeks ago.

Ralph said that the mag basepads would/should work on either compact or full size mags. He didn't have any of the compact mags in the shop to test. I mentioned that when I receive mine, hopefully Monday, I'll try they and let him know the results.

Do these new base pads come with an extended magazine spring as well? I would assume one would be needed?

I see no way how stock would work. An extra 6 rounds? Maybe for a 2 or 3 round extention. But for 6 rounds it has to need a longer spring.

I'm planning on trying it out tomorrow. I had one setup that I made that worked for 3 extra rounds with the stock spring, so it could work.

M-P mag bases

When I called on XD bases , they started without spring, but know have a "kit" with

the spring also. Called Brownells Friday and the Tech guy did not know about the XD yet.

Now I will have to call Arredondo about M-P and XD on Monday.
