What agencies have adopted the M&P? I know of Columbus Ohio and Cincinatti. There must be more.

I believe the D/FW Airport Police have swapped their Berettas for M&Ps

The Patrick County, VA Sheriff's Office recently switched to the M&P40. I think they were the first LE agency to issue the M&P.



I should be getting one issued in the next few months, but my agency is already listed above.

New Castle County Police Dept in Delaware is transitioning from the Smith and Wesson 5943/46 DA) series to the M&P....SWAT already has theirs, what a great gun.

The last news I got on this is that Columbus, Ohio is going to issue 40's and Cincinnati has already started issuing 9's. CHECk 360 David

Winthrop Ma Police are in the process of adopting the M/P in .40

I thought the Iowa State Patrol adopted it.

They did, but they are still sitting in DesMoines.

They have to go through the training and qualify yet.

I believe they were waitting on leather also.

The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission...the .40. Talked to an agent today who said his recent academy was the first to be issued them. They evidently have a wide latitude on carry guns, as he mentioned that a couple of other agents carried 1911s.

I don't know of any others that issue the M&P, but I know another one that has it on the "allowed" list. Does that count?

Yes, that also counts. I would like to know about any agency that allows the gun to be carried on duty by it's officers. I'm gathering a list to present to my admin. to try to convince them to allow it for carry at my S.O.

ISP is carrying and qualified with theirs. Knoxville Iowa PD has the M&P .40 on the "allowed" list. I qualified with mine tonight. (day and night qual) Very nice! I'm impressed.

Add Clearwater Police Dept (Clearwater, Florida) to that list also. Guns are already in as well as holsters and will be getting them in two weeks.

Given time I am sure that most departments that have an option list of guns will allow the M&P - We will likely add them to our list soon - and I have a T/E M&P enroute to let some of our officers test. We're currently issuing the SIG in 40 but I'd like to see us find another general issue pistol. The M&P might be a great option.
