What are the differences between the models with the safety and without? Having pulled mine apart for the trigger job ( THANKS DAN!!! ) I was looking at it to see what the safety entailed. From what I can see it is just the safety lever itself that blocks the arm from coming back to engage the sear. If I pull the block and take just the safety lever out will I run into any problems? I would rather not have a safety on mine and when I emailed S&W they said they would not be offering that service any time soon. Has anybody else made this conversion? Are the fillers for the slots easy to remove / install?

I just pulled my lever out today, I have not fired it yet, but dry firing it seemd to be okay. I sent an email to S&W to see where I could get spacers but have not heard back yet. Even with the cutouts empty it doesn't look bad.
