Just curious if somebody could measure the thickest portion of the pistol. Glock says that their pistols have a width of 1.18" but I find that the thickest portion (grip) is actually thicker than that. Is is the same with the M&P?

Thanks, just curious

I would, but I just sent it out to S&W to get the new release.

According to my $20 caliper, the grip's width from side to side:

Glock 19 = 1.15"

S&W M&P = 1.15"

1911 with Ahrends checkered grips = 1.27"

Thanks!

That means they the #'s advertised are about right and that they are about the same size.

I remeasured my Glock 23 and came up with 1.18" they claim. I must have been measuring from the thumb rest, or didn't previously zero beforehand.

I see an M&P 40 in my future
