I went from a G19 as my one ccw to a stable consisting of an M&P 9, 9c, Shield 9mm. I carry the biggest one I'm able depending upon attire and activities for the day. My shield has the Apex action enhancement trigger and the other two have the polymer Apex FSS trigger kits installed. These have been great enhancements.

I have a full size 9mm that's my EDC, a 9c, and a shield 9mm. The 9c has pretty much been relegated to safe duty so I'm trading it this week for a M&P 45.

Nope...have not gone full M&P and have zero plans to. I enjoy shooting a variety of platforms and actually think it makes me a more well rounded shooter.

There needs to be a M&P Combat Shotgun to round out the full array of self defense guns.

I must admit, the Shield and Bodyguard are my go to guns for carry. But my truck gun is still a Smith 6906.

LGS has M&P FS 9mm ,40 or 45 ACP $425 with 150 rounds of Ammo free. I may talk myself into getting a 9 or 40.

I was a M&P only kinda guy until I considered what would happen should I actually use it to protect myself. That would mean bye bye pistol and you "may" get it back some day. So, I bought a nice little Taurus 9mm 3" and if I have to have it taken away for evidence, I'm only out 217 plus shipping. The gun consistently hit center mass at 9 yards, so it works for me, and I'll keep my M&P's safe at home.

Personally I wouldn't bet my life on that Taurus, IMHO they aren't quality guns, my former Dept wouldn't even allow their use as back up guns. Will they take your gun for possible evidence purposes if you are in a shooting? Definitely, but the answer to that is to have a good quality gun to fall back on, your life is worth too much to trust to cheap guns.

I appreciate your opinion, and understand the logic. I take the Taurus to the range each time I go and have fired almost 1000 rounds through it without a single misfire. I do get "fliers" about one in 30, but it holds 12+1. It also has a safety and a gun lock that prevents the slide or the trigger from moving when engaged. I'm not a LEO or a veteran, and I prefer to carry safely.

I keep my S&W handy, no telling when I might run into a bigger catapult.

Thanks for the response.

I was given an M&P Shield by my uncle who wanted something smaller to carry. After shooting it, I immediately had to have a full size in 40 SW, and put a new M2.0 in 9mm with a 5" barrel on order. These go with my full size XD in 40 SW and a XD Tactical 9mm 5". Can't wait to shoot the M2.0 when it finally gets here. Only been one week but it feels like a month waiting for it.

My new M&P 9mm M2.0. Now 300 rounds through my new M&P that include 50 rounds of my carry ammunition with no problems. Great pistol.

Got a Shield in .40, then a FS 40 and added the .357 barrel to the mix, and last month picked up a M&P 15 Sport on the cheap just because. That will be the end of my M&P line, but just because I like a variety. Though I dont own, and will never own a Glock - sorry, just not for me. And I still have nothing Colt - and probably won't, because it seems I can always find something that I think is better for less $$$. Really like everything about the M&P line though.

I'm an equal opportunity gun lover! I own Sig, HK, S&W, and Glock with equal enthusiasm ... well ... the only Glocks I really own and like are the 10mm models.

I'm getting into the phase of "Not Much Impresses Me" and have started collecting 'Micro' and 'Mouse' guns. I have several Baby Brownings, Colt Mustangs, and Sig 938 and 238s in this category right now ... and ... seriously looking at a Bodyguard to carry in the next couple of weeks.

I have come full circle back to the M&P since going off course last year. I now run with a 40 Pro that I swap back and for with a 9mm Storm Lake barrel for comp, and a 2.0 for carry. At this point I just keep a 9mm 1911 around for competing single stack...

Full M&P - Closer...

So, I sold my Kimber Ultra CDP and got a Smith Shield .45 to which I added an Apex Blue Line trigger/action kit, night sights, polished barrel, very happy with the result.

Then, I traded my Dan Wesson Specialist (got a nice chunk of cash back, too!) and got a Performance Center C.O.R.E. Full Size .40 caliber with a ported barrel, put a Streamlight TLR-2G laser/light on it, and will be putting an Apex Blue Line trigger/action kit and night sights on it. With the ported barrel it shoots like a 9mm, VERY happy with my first ported barrel!

Not quite full M&P, still have my Sig P938 and a Ruger LCP II, keeping both of them (for now!), but very happy with the Smiths...
