It's the name for the busiest shopping day of the year, the day after Thanksgiving.

There is a website collects the special deals that lots of retailers don't advertise.

Correction, they will advertise it later on, it will be in the fridays paper etc..

Those are leaked ads from the stores themselfs.. bestbuy threatened to take legal action on one of those sites so they took down the ad..

but anyways, its good for people to see if they havent already..

2 years ago i bought a 19 inch lcd monitor from staples for about 200$ after rebates, reg price was around 330$ at the time..



recently the stuff they put out are getting crappier though.. they use to have much better stuff

I think the Black Friday designation was probably first made by the employees who have to work that day!

Worked at Circuit City for 6 years and let me tell it was interesting. I usually worked from about 5a.m. to 9:30p.m. The amount of customers that would wait outside for the better part of the night is almost unphathomable.

I remember one time a few years ago, Best Buy had a great deal on a sub wolfer for my home theater, I went by there earlier in the morning and they were lined up for about a block waiting to get in, so I left, about the middle of the afternoon I went back and got in without any big problem, they had one left, I got the last one!

I too worked at CC when I was younger. I feel your pain. That was the worst day of the year.

We had a line of tents outside of bestbuy for the PS3 release and even more for the Wii

I never saw any fights at CC but Walmart was a whole different story. I heard about many near riots starting over there.

If they would spend that money fixing up their trailer house, they wouldn't have so much to spend on big screen t v's and expensive video games.

My wife and I took a days vacation and done all our Christmas shopping today. We will be sleeping in on "Black Friday", and when we get up, go to our favorite indoor range for some practice. We used to be like all the other sheep and get out early on Friday, but we came to the realization that our sanity and agravation was not worth it.
