Hi,

I'll be purchasing a new M&P in a few weeks. (they finally will become available for us Mass residents). I am planning on shooting USPSA this year for the first time and wanted to know what holsters would be best for competition.

I'm not planning on shooting Production as I may shoot Limited or Limited 10 because I most likely will change a few things on the pistol. I shot a match last year with my brother and his Infinity SVI and used a Ghost holster which I liked a lot. However it doesnt appear they make them yet for the M&P.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Holster

I shoot Limited Division in USPSA and use the Blade Tech drop/offset holster for my Benny Hill 6" Fat Free. I really don't think you give up much in the way of draw speed, yet have better weapon retention.

Also works great for shooting 3-gun

I don't use the DOH Version, but I have the Standard Stingray Blade Tech.

When I started in USPSA I used Race holsters, mostly Safariland, now I use Blade-Techs even in Limited Class. I like my Stingray Holsters, Blade-Tech Mag Pouches are really good too, they have the right amount of tension to hold the Magazines in, but when you want your mags to come out, they DO Fly out!!

I shoot production and really like my Ready Tactical holster & mag pouches. Have a set for my M&P and my 226 and think they're great!

I also agree that if you're shooting the M&P, production division is the way to go.

Thanks for all the help.

Looks like the Blade-Tech Holster is the popular choice. What is the difference between the Tec-Lok one and the SR loop one?

Looks to me like the Tec-lok hooks onto the belt differently? What style would be better for USPSA?

Also seems like everyone recommends going Production with the M&P. Being new to competitive shooting I guess I am more partial to having the mags in front as to behind, and like the idea of modifying the gun a bit more. But I'll have to see how things play out once I get the M&P. Just awaiting word on shipment to those of us in the lovely state of Massachusetts.

Sad to say they make the M&P in this state and we're the last to get them

The SR/Stingray is a Belt Loop, the Tech-Lock is a Clamp!! I'll post pics later, I have both!!

Yes

Either, Your preference. My Holster is SR and my Pouches are the BT Competition Single Pouches on Tech Lock with Carbon Fiber Finish, I'll post pics later too.

I prefer production myself, I like the 10 round limit and the Carry Holster limitation!! Limited is too Open for the M&P, Limited is ruled mostly byt Race Guns, well with the exception of Dave Sevigny that is:D

Belt and Holster

I use the Bladetech DOH with all my guns in competition. I also wear the CR Speed belt system. Works great for me.

I use a bladetech. I used to use it with tthe dropped and offset attachment, but have since gone to a non-dropped configuration.

The ready tactical mag pouches are probably the best I have encountered. However right now natchez is ahving a sale on the blackhawk mag pouches. Which are pretty damn good to.

hard to argue with at $13 each.

It can sometimes be tough to get products from Ready Tactical.
You got that right. Their website is now down but while it was up, they were still taking orders and payment and ripping people off. SKD Tactical keeps inventory so hopefully I can get their left over RT mag pouches.

You guys should really try some Kytac gear. It's awesome.
I was looking at them (belt holsters) very closely yesterday and might have placed an order but I prefer trigger guard retention so I went with Comp-Tac again.

WOW! I just got an email saying they have been shipped and I just placed the order a couple hours ago! Kudos to SKD Tactical, too bad RT couldn't get their own butts in gear.

I don't know what the deal is with them as they seemed to have dropped off the map, but SKD Tactical has some Ready Tactical mag pouches for the M&P in stock so I just ordered 4.[/quote]

SKD tactical is their stocking dealer. As I understand the situation form chatting with one of the SKD guys at a local (for me anyway) USPSA match is that the guy behind ready tactical would rather be making stuff and letting them sell it rather than trying to run a web store.

My reaction was that it made sense, but people might like to know this and are a bit confused.

I guess he should stick with what he can do well then. RT products are considered very good quality and when they seemed to disappear (unfulfilled orders, no refunds, unanswered phone calls and emails) it was a shame. The shooting community is better off with RT products out there. I'm sure SKD is happy to make that happen and I for one was happy to give them my money.
