Is there any particular brand and/or grain weight of 9mm that's recommended for breaking-in a compact? I was thinking of just buying 1000 rounds of bulk factory re-loaded 124 gr. ammo at just north of 1000 fps . . . what do you folks think?

There's a lot of junk reloads out there, you have to be careful, you don't want to blow it up, personally I would stick with WWB Winchester white box new ammo.

This is Ultramax reloaded ammo, it's the bulk "Remanufactured" ammo that Cabela's sells, and this is the kind of stuff that blows up guns.

buy some Winchester 100 rd value packs from Wal-mart. Clean and oil the gun as per the manual. Shoot 50 rounds or so and clean and oil the bar as per the manual. Shoot 100+ and then do a complete clean and oil as per the manual.

I'm a fan of the Remington UMC as well as the WWB. Whatever's cheapest for me.
