Yup, not on an M&P, but I've seen it!! You are supposed to Smack the Dovetail, not the blade!!

You Smacked the blade, It snapped!!

Although a bit slow, S&W has excellent customer service.

I am comparing them to both Ruger and H&K, both of whom could not fix the problems.

I have total confidence in S&W to take care of their customers (on theier tiem frame).

Worth the wait.

Front sight

I purchased a 9mm on Saturday. Shot 200 rounds yesterday, and found that my aim was increasingly drifting to the left. The front sight was very loosely set in the dovetail. Came home called SW CS and with in five minutes a tech was taking my information and sending me prepaid shipping materials. So far so good. Much better communication and service than some other firms.

One of the inherent problem with the M&P's are the sights. There have been many posts on this Forum about the front sight not being centered on the frame, loose front sights, and tight front sights. My front sight was about 1/8 inch off of center and so tight that I bent a brass punch trying to move it. I have yet been able to move my rear sight...it seems welded in place. If S&W cared about quality, they would have addressed these issues long ago!

markh,

I just had some recent warranty work done on my M&P 40.

Dropped it off at UPS on a monday, back on my doorstep on friday.

Not sure when your experience was, but as of late they seem pretty prompt.

Oh and my problem was fixed and "FREE MAG".
