I looked at S&W's site, they talk about pistols but not their rifles. Google turns up diddly... Your thoughts and suggestions?

I do what one of the books i've been reading says, "Lube up the weapon and then dry fire it some to make sure the lube is evenly spread across the bolt and carrier, along with any other parts requiring it."

Yes you can dry fire any AR or M-16. I spent a whole lot of hours dry firing the M-16 in the Marines. Until you reach a certain rank your first week of yearly rifle quals was 8 hours of dry firing every day for a week.
