I'm curious as to how long it took your city/state to process and issue your CCW permit

from when you submitted it.

It took the Arizona Department of Public Safety less than a week, 4 business days to be

exact. I went to the 8 hour CCW class last Saturday Dec 8th, mailed off the application

Sunday Dec 9th and it came in the mail on Dec 13th. Pretty quick in my opinion considering

they have up to 75 days to process it....

I dropped mine off at the Virginia Beach courthouse on a Friday and left for vacation the next day. When I returned two weeks later my letter telling me to come pick up my permit was in my stack of mail

You have up to 2 yrs after completing the 8 hour CC class to apply for your license. $54 dollars, qualify Cert. and a three week wait....

Maryland can vary greatly depending on a lot of factors. I think my initial application took about a month, and my renewals have taken anywhere from a couple of weeks to two months.

I live in SW Missouri and it took 10 business days after I filed and was finger printed. State law says it can take up to, but no longer than forty-five days, and it probably does in higher population areas like KC or St. Louis, or in counties/areas that are anti-CCW.

ohio is required to give license or rejection within 45 days from application... most get it within 10 - 14 days... however, being former USMC, they had to do a military file check as part of my background, and it took the government 35 days to send the info back.

I submitted it on a Monday and received it in the mail Thursday of that week. My background "from a previous life" may have had something to do with the quick turn though.

There was one choice that I would have checked if I could....it would be: I forgot!

It's been 8 or 9 yrs and quite frankly, I don't remember!

Ohio CCW turnaround

In Ohio each county's sheriff sets the tone as to fee, hours when they take applications and turnaround. One of our outs is that we can apply in our county of residence or any adjacent county. There is a web site that gives the average turnaround time for the relevant counties. I did not get mine in my county of residence.

thats good to know but i think its lame that the turnaround time is different. i asked my friend that lives in the same town as me and he got it in 3 weeks because he said he's in good with the chief. when i showed up the lady at the desk said 6-8 weeks. i shrugged it off thinking thats what they say to everyone but then mail out the permits faster.

I mailed the application off Monday 2/4/08. I'm still waiting for it to come. I did the electronic fingerprint filing the friday before that.

3 long months in Utah, but this is mainly due to its popularity with non residents.
