When it gets too loaded up with dirt it won't clean properly anymore, you should be able to see that point when it comes.

Walnut for cleaning

Corn Cob for polishing

For best polish add a little Flitz to the corn cob

Shiny is nice but not necessary, clean is all you need.

Right now I'm using about 2/3 walnut 1/3 corn cob mix. SO far I've cleaned 10000+ cases and am currently cleaning my 2x fired brass. But despite the fact that the media itself looks dirty the cases are still coming out clean and fairly shiny. Some of the .45 I cleaned came out so good you can barely tell it was 1x fired.

So I guess I just have to watch it .... I was kinda hoping for a case count or something.
