In the realm of 'credit where credit is due'.....

A few weeks ago, I ordered a Comp-Tac settable cant system for my MP40.

The rig arrived within a couple of days of the order, no problems there. I fiddled with it over a weekend, and came to the conclusion that it just wasn't right for me.

I own a couple of standard CT FBI paddles, and figured that would work better. I emailed JB at CT, and asked if they would be willing to take the settable cant rig back as a trade-in for an FBI paddle. He said no problem. I wan't looking for a huge break, just maybe a couple bux off the new rig...nope, straight trade!

Sent the rig back....received the standard paddle within a week....along with the return of the $$ I sent for shipping, and a refund of the difference in price between the two items.

Nice folks they have there in Texas....

While I was writing this, I received an email from JB. Comp-Tac now has double layer belts with a Kydex stiffener in stock.

Might just have to send some more $$ their way!

This is a pretty typical anecdote of CT's service. I called about my first CT holster about 3-4 years ago. They guy said they didn't have one in stock (big surprise, right? I'm left-handed). I was waiting on the "Six weeks, blah, blah, blah," as I had just had an extended delay from TWO other Kydex makers. I said, "When can you make one?" He said, "As soon as you hang up the phone...". Stunned silence on my part, follwed by a CC number. I think this was a Thursday at near 5PM, and the holster was in my mailbox on Tuesday, IIRC.

When are these belts going to be on their website? Just went to see what ive missed seeing. And still dont see them. Wondering what they will be like in price and quality compared to a Wilderness instructors belt. Im sure they will be great, just like all of their products. I love the 5 stictch wilderness instructor belts, for holsters or just as a belt, no matter what. But would love to test a Comp Tac belt out.

I got an E-mail from them on the belt, they said it won't be on the web site for a few weeks but to call them and they could "help me out." I've got it on my list of stuff to do this week.

Comp-tac made a run of belts a year ago and they were great. The belt is cut curved so it fits great and it has a kydex liner in between the leather which makes it the stiffest leather belt I've seen. The "ranger" buckle system is also nice because you get the full size belt around the sides where you need it and the narrower area up front to keep it comfortable when you bend.

I hadn't heard he was making another run of belts. If these are as nice as the other ones, they should rock.

A Comp-Tac belt holster and double mag pouch showed up at my door yesterday! Looks to be a very sweet set up. The Comp-Tac folks really are great to work with.

My M&P 40 is currently on it's way to PA for some Burwell voodoo. Will have to wait a bit for some quality time with the new combo!

My tan belt was to me in right under a week. Looks great, haven't worn it with a gun yet. The tapered front may take a bit to get used to, but it looks like an excellent belt, very stiff-doesn't roll over. This is the first belt I've owned that is cut with the curve built in, so no "break-in."

FAST Delivery

Wow.

Speaking of Comptac service. I placed an order for a CTAC for my XD-9 and for my (wayward MP40) Monday evening and they both arrived today! Less than 48 hours and that was going through just regular US Mail.
Course, Comptac is co-located here in the Great Republic Of Texas with me, but still, that was quite unexpected.

Every once and awhile you have the pleasure of dealing with a company like this.

Simply fantastic.

(By the way, does that tell you anything about my faith in the MP? I ordered a CTAC holster even though my pistol is currently at S&W being repaired. I fully expect to get back a truly great handgun -- so I can be like the rest of you guys [I hate you all] )
