New M&P 9 no in stable.

LOVE the different backstraps.

glockophobes, philes, or whatever they are warned about slide release (big deal) and how hard it was to take down (boo hoo). WRONG on both counts.

Leather? Any ideas?

Congrats!

For leather talk to Rob Longenecker from Tucker Gunleather in Houston. A finer holster you will not find.

+1 I think the M&P 9 is a great pistol. I shot mine the first time yesterday. It is a real hoot to shoot!!
I bought a Kydex "Shirt Tucker: IWB from Comp-Tac. It is a great holster. I also discovered that the M&P 9 will sit reasonably well in the Crossbreed Holster that was built for my S&W Sigma SW9VE. Now I am trying to decide if I want leather or Kydex for an OWB holster.

Stay safe.

Anhinga; Can you please tell me how long did it took to get your Crossbreed holster. Today is exactly six weeks since I ordered mine. They said about six weeks to deliver. I guess they really do take at least that long.

Thanks.

I've never field stripped a Glock, but the MP series is easy!

Congrats. I like the Desantis Inner Piece for a holster.

Congratulations on your acquisition. I have a Desantis made for the M&P with S&W logo stamped on it, it's for sale here:

Well since you can field strip it exactly like a glock but with a convenient lever instead of the little textured nubs, I would say those whining about that don't have a clue.

The original slide stop was probably a bit stiffer than a stock glocks. IMO the S&W fix is a lot better than the glock fix, which goes too much in the other direction (i.e. for many becomes easy to inadvertantly bump into).
Does anyone have an XD 9mm as well as an M&P 9mm?

Close.

VVVV
How do you guys compare the two, especially the two 9mms?
My wife found the slide on the M&P 9 easier to work than anything else in the store (including a XD-9 Service).

Advantage XD: tactile indicators for cocked and chambered round.

Advantage M&P: 3 grips make for a very nice fit for both of us (I use the med, she uses the small).

California means both are limited to 10 rounds.

Thats a hard comparison, aside from the minute details, it is a even race for me. At the same time, i only have 250 rounds through the M&P, whereas i have 3000+ through the XD. Although I love my XD, and it has been with me alot of places, i am carrying the M&P right now. Problem is i can quite put my finger on why.

Yep you are right the Crossbreed Holster takes about 6 weeks to arrive in the mail. It is worth the wait.
