Here are a couple pics of a 45 I just finished up.

Build list includes:

Standard trigger job

Shark Skin treatment applied to Front Strap, Back Strap, Magazine Release, Striker Cover, Trigger, and both Forward Index Points.

Melt treatment

Melonite reapplied to slide after the melt

Trijicon front sight

My rear sight- Will be swapped out with my rear night sight as soon as batch 2 arrives.

Your re-finish with the Melonite looks much "Blacker" then the factory job. Which of your finishes is more durable, The Nickel/Teflon or the Melonite???

that is what I am wondering it looks real slick does that affect the ability to rack the slide???

Since I don't have one of my own done yet to beat the crap out of I cannot really say wich is more durable. The gentleman who owns this gun also has one with the teflon nickle so maybe he can let us know which one he thinks takes abuse better.



I do know the teflon nickle on my competition gun is holding up better than the factory melonite on my wifes gun.

Nice lookking .45!! Love the Shark Skin and sites. That is the best looking melt job I've seen on a M&P.
