On the new 10mm look at the rear sight. See how far rearward it is and how thin the sight is ? This makes me think that either S&W moved the striker plunger safety back more or that they finally have a way of holding it in without the rear sights holding it in. I haven't seen the underside of the new 10mm yet to confirm this. But hopefully the new 10mm does have a new way of holding the striker safety in without using the sights. That was always a negative to me about the M&Ps when changing out sights and or trying to clean the striker safety.

UPDATE : I just found out you can get to the striker safety plunger under the optics plate and access is way easier on these . Plus there is a seperate screw holding it in so you can control it better and not have the spring fly out across the room . No longer will you have to remove the rear iron sights.

The Safety Plunger is held in place by the Extractor on the S&W SD9 but still requires a 1/16" roll pin be punched out in order to gain access
I wonder about the EZ M&Ps, They have a breach block retained by a roll pin
