Well I already got shield plus 3.1inch and the rebate for it, and mp9 2.0 4.25 inch is on order now.
I have one more permit to buy but I already blew my budget to smitherins. I figured if I can find something under 300$ I can push the budget just a little. But after reviewing the situation I think I will just let it go. I really wanted to get the 4" mp shield plus PC, but at 600+ ... No can do.

I have seen the 4" for around $550 online. And, it qualifies for the rebate too. Although, I don't know if there is a limit to rebates for 1 person

I saw a post on one of the related boards, that mentioned that SW now owns a good chunk of Taurus business thus hope is that some of the business practices will leak over.
This information is way out of date. In 1970, the conglomerate owner of S&W, Bangor Punta Corp, purchased a controlling interest in Taurus. Consequently, a lot of S&W's technology was shared with Taurus which is why Taurus revolvers look so much like S&W's. In 1977 Taurus was reacquired from Bangor Punta by private investors and severed ties with S&W. In 2001 S&W was purchased from Bangor Punta by Saf-T-Hammer Corp and finally spun off as a self contained company in 2020. At this time there is no business relationship between S&W and Taurus.

I conceal carry a shield plus and it is amazing how accurate it is. I also have 2 5 inch performance center guns the #11820 in 9mm and #11825 in 40s&w. If you get the chance to shoot a performance center take it they are well worth the money!!

Yes, but S&W has nothing to do with the company now.

That page said:

"In 1970, Bangor Punta, which owned Smith & Wesson, purchased a controlling interest in Forjas Taurus. During the next seven years, a great deal of technology and methodology was passed between the two companies."

It has been a LOOONG time since S&W had anything to do with Taurus. It has no bearing on what has been happening with the company now, or for quite a many years....

I agree 100%. Smith & Wesson is generally a better gun, but more reliable? Nothing man-made is perfect all the time, you get variances in tolerances in any gun, regardless in price. Unless you buy custom assembled firearms, which prohibits a lot of buyers for that price level by itself.

That’s BS.
I own several “custom level” (actually semi-custom; three Wilsons and a Baer), and my Colt 1911s, various M&P models, Caniks, and others; all are totally reliable. That’s regardless of the fact that some cost 3-5K, and several cost under 1K. Of course; that’s ever since I got rid of the taurus and kimber guns.

If you’re spending your $$ on new guns that don’t function 100%; you need to change brands.

My Canik SFX was a piece of crap, sorry, but even on the "Canik Fanatic" forums several had problems with that model. Use NATO spec ammo, 147 grain rounds, it wouldn't cycle. I got the lighter recoil spring from Canik, it worked better but didn't always run and stove piped quite a few times. I even had my gunsmith look at it, he changed striker springs, still had problems. I took his advice-sold it.

S&W couldn't replicate the dead trigger on my new Gen 1 45acp. They had it 5 weeks, and when I got it back, went to the range and after about 5 shots-it did it again. The same gunsmith at the shop looked at it, lots of metal chips in the striker channel, he installed a MCarbo spring kit, wallah--it ran fine after that. I have not shot my new PC 45 yet, I hope it is as awesome as the price I paid for it. I do agree with you on others being reliable, my CZ's have never required anything, nor has my Tarus which I carry in my truck for backup. None of my revolvers have ever give me any problems, some of them are fairly large and even they don't act up.

Any gun (machine) can have quirks.

I like CZ's, too. Carried one today while out running errands. I'm a member of the CZ Forum and we pretty regularly see new folks join, sometimes just to complain, sometimes to try to understand why their new gun isn't working like it should, or like the think it should.

I've had issues wtih Brownings, M&Ps, CZs, a P14, a SA 1911 and my one and only SIG. Not all of them are the pistol's fault, but some are odd.

Someone was talking about ammo. I had a "pet" load for 147 grain ammo for my old 1.0 M&P FS 9MM. Shot okay, functioned great. Got my CZ pistols (several 9MMs in different models and barrel lengths.) Both the hollow points and lead bullets that did fine in the M&Ps tumbled badly even at 7 yds. from the CZs. Every 9MM CZ I have fired them in (at least 4). I upped the powder charge a little and got them to stop tumbling (additional velocity=higher rpm spin on the bullet = more stability.) I got my new SIG and those slightly higher powered 147s won't cycle the action. Not a short stroke, not a failure to feed. The SIG goes bang, the empty is still in the chamber. That ammo turns the SIG into a single shot manually operated pistol. Absolutely weird.

Don't blame everything on the gun. Any gun can act odd/funny and sometimes it is the gun. Sometimes it's the way the operator shoots it. Sometimes it's the ammo.
