Have been carrying IWB, using a Comp-Tac MTAC holster, for several years, but want to explore making OWB work again. I have been around the IWB-OWB circle several time over many years. As importantly as what works for you, anything you have tried that didn't work would be of interest. Please be clear if you are talking about anything besides a Shield. Thanks!

From above, I would chose one of these:

Desantis Mini Scabbard

Mini Scabbard for me too. With the M&P Shield you'll want a decent gun belt (fairly stiff, 1 1/2" to 1 3/4") and leave holster retention a bit loose, or the draw may hang up.

Thanks, all! I was surprised that every recommendation was for a traditional leather pancake/scabbard type of holster. I reckon, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!" So, with that in mind, and succumbing to a personal quirk, I ordered a mahogany Kramer horsehide belt scabbard holster. I have had several of Kramer's horsehide pieces over the years and been 100% satisfied with every one of them.
