Since we were discussing good deals on flashlights I thought I'd post what All Battery has going on. For those not familiar they have some of the best prices on pretty good rechargeable batteries and good deals on everything from basic to very good chargers. Especially if you catch a sale item and or get one of their frequent percent off or free shipping codes. I buy my rechargeables exclusively from them.

Right now they have a sale on a "CREE XR-E (4W) LED Aluminum Flashlight" for $29 with ten 1300mAh CR123A lithium batteries included in the deal. I bought one and it's surprisingly good. I'm sure it lacks the fancy electronics but it's cheap enough that on receiving it and trying it out I ordered a second for my car. http://www.all-battery.com/index.asp?PageA...amp;ProdID=1965

I also ordered their "12W Luxeon K2 LED Flashlight" with ten 1300mAh CR123A batteries for $48. They claim 160 lumens. Once again it's not fancy. But it's good enough for my night stand. I should have it in 3-4 days and will post when I try it out. http://www.all-battery.com/index.asp?PageA...amp;ProdID=1988

Later I'll get one of the more expensive ones that somebody else posted. But for now these are affordable and I can afford to toss a 10 pack of batteries in the car for emergencies. When I bought mine there was a 20% off flashlights code but I don't know if it's still any good. Code = flash09

For those looking for a very good charger for Ni-MH AA and AAA batteries I can recommend their T-6988 IC controlled charger. It holds 10 and has an auto cutoff feature with trickle charge and a battery reconditioning mode (slow). http://www.all-battery.com/index.asp?PageA...mp;Category=400

Here is the main on sale page. http://www.all-battery.com/index.asp?PageA...mp;Category=400

***Note to Mods***

All Battery gives two options to those 'spreading the word' about deals. One gives the poster the opportunity to "earn" a $30 credit and the other does not give the poster anything. I chose to link using the 'nothing in it for me' option to avoid the taint of Spam.

Found another flashlight deal. Golden Gadgets has the 130 claimed lumen PlamBlaze Luxeon K2 tactical flashlight on sale for $25. I've ordered one just for fun. They mainly sell cheapie stuff but once in a while they have a gem at a great price.

The new K2 Luxeon LED Bulb is one of the most powerful and reliable LED bulbs on the market. The Palm Blaze F-PK2 is a lightweight tactical light providing more light output than any else on the market (130 lumens). With its intelligent DC-DC regulator and new Collimator lens, it can be used for 10 hrs with a perfect Square focus beam.

For the really lumen hungry they have the "Romisen 3 x CREE LED Combat Light" for $99. I'm not too sure about this beast but it was worth posting... I've no idea how long the batteries last but I'm sure it's not long.

Features:

* 3 x CREE XR-E LED

* Outputs 500 Lumens

* uses 4 x CR123A

* Includes carrying pouch

I've tried out the two Tenergy flashlights and the PalmBlaze and we have a clear winner. The 4W Cree Tenergy. It put our a fairly narrow but bright beam with a very bright roughly 12" at 10' center spot. Second was the very well named PalmBlaze. It does get hot and puts out an oddly square medium narrow beam that is pretty bright. The 12W Tenergy K2 has the widest beam at about 15' at 10' with a small bright spot in the center. At $29 with 10 batteries the Tenergy 4W Cree is the only one that I could recommend and only with the you get what you pay for reminder. The PalmBlaze won't be a total loss. It will be riding under the magazine extension of my shotgun until it dies from the recoil.
