Florida’s Permit-less Concealed Carry

The bill just passed the Florida Senate this PM, and will go to the Gov’s. desk for signing.
DeSantis has already stated that he’ll sign it.

It’s to be effective July 1, 2023, and I believe that the vote was around 27-12; with one Rino voting against it. I don’t know who the “no-voter” was.

I still intend to keep my CCW; so I can buy guns without any waiting period.

Me too. For that reason, as well as to enjoy reciprocity with other states.

Good to see my home State finally going Permit-less Carry. I got my 1st FL permit back in '89.
While Permit-less Carry is good, Keeping/Renewing permits has its percs.
Congrats to FL and DeSantis. :)

I’m so glad to be living in Florida now. I grew up in NJ and lived for ten years in Connecticut and it’s refreshing to be in a place where gun ownership is respected.

I've always lived in states where gun rights are respected. Texas, Alaska and now Tennessee. I feel blessed to have lived in all of them! I am glad for you man.

Florida is a bucket list state to go offshore fishing from. It will happen soon.

I wish it was a true constitutional thing with open carry, but we will take what we can get.

I have my reservations about Desantis, I’ve got a close eye on him

Yup... Baby Steps.
Here in TX, we had to try several times to add Open Carry to our Concealed (CHL) Laws (Now called License To Carry - LTC). Then a Few MORE sessions to achieve Permitless/Constitutional Carry.

Keep on your Congressmen to keep chipping away. :)
I keep hoping it will come up and pass here in VA. WV has it. Didn't NC get it recently? They talk about it here but it never goes anywhere.

I'd still get my permit since I do travel out of state at times. It would be nice for people who live in areas they feel they need to be armed to carry out their daily lives. And, over and over again statistics looked at a couple/three years after passing such laws show a drop in crime. After all, the killer in Nashville a week or so back wrote that the reason for not going to a couple other areas to try the same thing was the presence of guards and citizens carrying guns.
