Which glock model do you prefer G27 or the G39? I see that the G27 is a .40 and the G39 is .45 G.A.P. but what is the recoil like? What is the difference between .45 ACP and GAP? I'm looking for a small backup weapon to complement my fullsize M&P .40. Any info. would be appreciated.

The M&P compact .40 would compliment your fullsize perfectly. Out of the 2 Glocks you listed I would rather have the G27. How do you plan on carrying the backup weapon?

I plan on carrying on the small of the back. I am considering M&P also but I want to get as much feedback from everyone before I make my decision. I am considering Glock, Sig & Smith weapons as back up.

I personally don't care for the G27 too much in fact I just sold mine because it has one hell of a recoil on it. 3.5" barrel and a .40 don't mix in my book. I like the what is it G23 compact .40, but I am really a full size kinda guy they seem to fit my larger hands the best

A few random thoughts:

- The recoil on the G39 is not going to be as "snappy" as the G27.

- Ammo for the G39 is going to be harder to find and more expensive.

- The G39 is slightly wider than the G27

- Since you already have the G22 stick with that caliber and get the G27.

- Your G22 mags will work in the G27 if need be.

- One caliber means ammo will work in either.
