Currently, it is illegal to: Carry a firearm within 1000 feet of a school (including universities); Have a gun on church property (including a secured firearm in a vehicle); and carry a firearm at a public gathering (no one, including LEOs have any clue what a public gathering is! So if you have a gun practically anywhere you can be arrested on this, but will most likely get tossed in court).



Victory for common sense!

Now let's see if it makes it through the house!

Kudos for the legislators whom are trying to clarify the statutes.



But I believe Ernie muddied the information and perhaps needs a little help with his sentence structure:

"Two bills allowing licensed guns to be carried in churches, bars and parts of airports on Wednesday were passed by the Senate, closing out a marathon day of legislation."



IF you take Ernie at his words, it sounds like Wednesday's are a good day to schedule your flight plans.

Carrying in churches was not included in the final GA bills changing carry law this year. The governor threaten to veto any bills that allowed carry in church. The Atlanta Airport was included in a second bill that passed the senate and house, but the governor vetoed that bill.

It is much better than before.

But we still have more to do to make the law clearer and better.
