How much better is the Shield M2.0 trigger compared to the 1st gen Shield trigger?

I owned a Gen 1 Shield. Hell, I've owned 4 of them. The trigger was "okay."..

I've owned one Shield 2.0 Trigger. But, it was a performance center model. It was a little better. I shot the gun a bit better than the gen 1 trigger. But, as it was a PC version, they did a little extra work on the trigger. I don't know how a standard 2.0 trigger feels on the Shield.

However - the Shield Plus trigger is way, way, way better than any other version of the gun. I have three Shield Plus pistols now. I also sold my older Shields once I discovered the Shield Plus. That tiny bit extra width in the grip made a huge difference to me. I always thought the single stack Shield was TOO thin. I knew that once I got the Shield Plus models, the older Shields would just be sitting in my safe forever.

I own three 1.0 pistols (all full size). We have a couple of the 1.0 Shield 9MM pistols. Two 2.0 full sized pistols (they can call a 4" .45 acp a "compact" all they want). One Shield Plus. And and Equalizer (different animal??)

The first couple of 1.0 full sized pistols didn't impress me at all.

The first 2.0 full sized (9MM 5" FDE) had a decent out of the box trigger but I replaced it with an Apex trigger anyway).

The 2.0 .45 acp Compact had a (probably) slightly better out of the box trigger than the 9MM but I'd ordered another Apex trigger kit before I ever got the .45.

I have a 1.0 PC 9MM 5" ported barrel OR pistol that has a heavier/harder to pull trigger than any M&P I've ever bought. It has the factory trigger in it but I replaced the trigger spring and striker block spring with Apex springs. It has a 5.5 lb. trigger pull. But, for crispness, reset, etc. it's as good as my Apex triggers. Just the right combination of S&W parts and there is no draggy/catchy feel/noise when pulling the trigger. Rearward movement stops (what they call the wall) and then it breaks and the striker fires the round. I let up on the trigger till it clicks/sear resets and stop. The only rearward movement before it fires the next round is some slight "bending" of the S&W factory plastic trigger. Other than being a little (couple lbs.) heavier than I'd like it's a darn nice trigger.

The Shields are okay. I decided a couple years ago I could live with them as they came out of the box.

Same for the Shield Plus. Not like an Apex but good enough I can live with in in a pistol that shoots as good as it does.
