I have been holding out for quite awhile now. Since the M&P was released I have been waiting for one in the Glock 19/23/32 size. Anyone know if S&W plans to release one?

There is going to be a 4.25" barrel 45ACP released.

4", I think ...[/quote]

I remembered it was on the 4/4.25" range, but I decided to go on the high side just in case.

I hope the compact M&P has a decent grip length otherwise I will stick with full size.
I suspect that is the reason for the commander, although I doubt it will sell that well if the grip is full sized. I'm personally hoping for a compact the size of a 9c but with an extra 1/4" of barrel.

Its in the works right now!...just not by S&W,

Meet my new CCW. Fullsize 9mm cutdown to G19 size. Pic doesn't have the mag inserted but I modified the fullsize basepad to have a really nice pinky shelf. My buddy who works at a fabrication shop just finsihed the magazie cutdown. Holds 14+1 rounds. I can get a nice tight full grip, feels better than the fullsize IMHO. I also cut the beavertail down to mid-size, and added A-grip tactical fuzz. I put a strip of skate-tape for my offhand palm (I'm left handed), the A-grip feels nice but I like the aggressive bite of skate tape better, but covering the entire grip gets pretty abrasive against the back for IWB. Not as pretty as Mr Burwell's or Mr Bowie's work..but its mine!!! It sure does carry nice!

It dosn't have to be full sized but somewhere between full sized and the c series. I doubt that will happen though.

I was comparing my M&P9 to my step-dad's G19. The size difference seems quite minimal to me, about a half inch in length and height. For me the M&P compact is too small so a size in between that and the full size would be great.

That 1/2 inch doesn't seem like much, but it feels much smaller when you carry. G19 size IS right in the middle of a M&P full and M&P Compact?! Take a look at this pic (borrowed from another post). I took off .53" off the fullsize, I could have gone shorter at .6 but .53 fit my hand better. I marked close to where I cut it. To me it IS right in between the full and compact?

I love the G19 size. That 1/2" difference is a huge difference for CCW. Atleast for me and quite a few others. It just makes a perfect all around size.

I don't see why they would not offer a mid size M&P. The M&P is proven and many contracts are starting. It's popular and not another Sigma POS thats not worth the investment for S&W. For Glock civvie sales the G19 is the #1 seller hands down. Even some LEO agencies have adopted the G19. Also Blackwater issues G19s as well as the Iraqi police and judges within their judicial system. It's popular for it's size, weight, and mag capacity.

With the success of the M&P I'm quite positive they will offer a mid sized. I just don't know when.

When they do offer one I want a .40SW. Hopefully the M&P will follow the route of Glock; conversions and a plethora of aftermarket parts will come out as well. Along with a wide variety of conversion barrels.

I was shopping for the mid-size M&P myself. I own both a G19 & a G23, but with a really good price from a gun shop coupled with the $50 + 2 free mags, I had to 'pull the trigger' on getting my long awaited M&P. I shot one a few months ago and fell in love with it. The one I ordered should arrive to my FFL on Friday. boing ...boing...boing...

I'd love to use my M&P as my CCW weapon, but it may relegated to off-body carry or open carry. If there was a mid-size M&P I'd be on it like white on rice.

I too found the compact grip unacceptable and made an in-between grip length on a compact with modified mags and shortened mag sleeves from luvmy40. If a particular M&P model comes out with a G19 or P2K grip length I could be very interested, although I am already very happy with my finished product.

Good work ArnisAndyz!
