Good deal on M&P 9c??

Ive been lurking here for a while now and yesterday I finally joined the ranks of the M&P club. I mostly carry a Kahr MK9 but started carring my XD9 sub-com for more capacity. As much as I tried to like the XD I just couldnt, it shot perfectly, never a problem in over 1500 rounds but there is just something about it that I cant put my finger on. Ive been looking at the M&P since they first came out and I really liked what I saw. Yesterday I went to the local gun shop as they were running a add with the 9c and 40c at $449.00 and asked about factory night sights on the 9c. Guy went out back and was gone for awhile and came back and said that while the full size pistols have the night sight option its only a law enforcement option for the compact. Said that If I was really intrested he would go and call the owner, who handled the LEO sales, and see if there was any reason a non-LEO couldnt get the night sights. He came back a few minutes later and said the owner quoted a price of $499.99 with factory night sights and asked ifI wanted one. I couldnt say yes quick enough! I know from lurking here that Smith&Wesson charges somewhere around $200 for night sights and putting them on. I think I came out very good on the deal, was just wondering what the rest of you thought? They had to order the pistol as they had none with night sights in stock, said I should be getting a call in 1-2 weeks saying its in. Now Ive got to call Milt Sparks Monday and order a VM2 for it!

That sounds like a fine deal. I bought a M&P 9c with night sights and three magazines for $475, but I had to use my badge to purchase it. If they are ordering you a LEO gun, it will probably come with three mags also. I really like my 9c, you will not be unhappy.

I was offered the exact same deal (LE). I didn't really need the night sights, so I didn't get them, but $475 was the price I was quoted with the LE discount. Sounds like you got a great deal!

Kesselrings in WA state. www.kesselrings.com

They do not list all of their guns on the site, but they have them in stock, just call.

FYI, I just called them recently and they did not have the M&P compact 9MM in stock.

I just bought my M&P compact from budsgunshop.com for $458.00 + $30 insured shipping. Stock 12 round version, standard sights.

I just talked to them Fri, (may 11) and they have both the .40c and 9c in stock (standard sights), and I know they have the .40 with night sights in stock, but don't know for sure about the 9 with night sights. Their inventory changes daily though because a lot of people like to do business with them!
Are the LE prices like Glock set by the factory so they are the same from dealer to dealer?

As far as I can tell, not all stores are authorized dealers. I think that the store must be an "authorized dealer" and buy in enough quantity to give the LE discount. I have only found the one store that offers the LE discount in WA, so I don't know for sure if others are required to offer that same price or not.. I'd suggest calling around, or ask others in your department where they do business for their personal firearms

I have located one S&W LE stocking dealer in my area and will give them a call. Thanks.

Follow-up: A search of the online gun auctions will often show buys on the M&P that are as good or better than the retail less LE discount. I just picked up an M&Pc 40 online for $400. Even with the added-on $25 shipping, I am ahead of the game.
