Got one...

Hola,

Of late I've been having a bout of nostalgia directed at hammer fired pistols. My first ever gun was a Ruger P-85 (still have it). In the Air Force (Security Forces) I constantly carried the M9. As a Police Officer my first issued sidearm was the Smith 5906..... Then I lucked into a never fired Ruger P345. A year later I end up with a good deal for another Ruger I had been looking for, a P95.

The P-85 and 5906 are safe queens. The P345 is too pretty. The P95 though was a blast on the range. It got me looking for a tiny hammer fired pistol. My searches turned up several but the CSX was the most affordable. It didn't help that a friend and co-worker uses one as his primary off-duty gun; he should be a rep for Smith and Smith is offering rebates right now. I found one at a Cabelas and here we are. If it shoots well I will carry it, unless Ruger releases a micro 9 reintroduction hammer fired DA/SA P series.

I will comment more when I get some range time in. Fortunately there are several holster manufacturers. I would like to see a light made available for it (like a TLR-6 or Crimson Trace Light Guard?).

Congrats on the new gun. Let us know how it shoots at the range
Yup, range reports are read here.

Not too much on here about the CSX so far. Don't know if that's due to it's relative "youth" compared to some of the other models or not.

Finally got it to the range. I thought it would be snappier, it was not that bad. Accuracy wise, spot on at 10 yards. At 25 it seems like it is beginning to shoot high but that may be me and the short sight radius.

The trigger was not bad. I don't know why this is getting negative results. It was just fine, but then again I don't have a "good" trigger to compare against. The best one I have is the Shadow Systems I put in my PSA Dagger or the Apex/M*Carbo set up in my M&P40 1.0. Neither of these would be considered fancy and while heavier than the M&P it more just, ...different(?).

Well, your CSX is hammer fired and the other two are striker fired. I can see the trigger feeling different on pull and reset.

I was talking more to the information available on the internet about the trigger. I didn't feel as though the trigger on my CSX was bad at all. Reset was fine. Break was consistent. Very little take-up. I will say that the trigger itself, the design is original.

I've never heard that a P345 is too pretty. Besides, you only live once. Go shoot it!

Been a little more time with it... Still liking it?
Actually.... I've gone (back) to a Glock 26. It points better for me and I run it better.
