We just got back from the Denton, Tx, gun show where I purchased a S & W - M & P 40 for $409.95 + tax. That was the best price in the place.
They had 9mm's at the same price. One other dealer was asking $419.95 and the rest were in the $450.00 range. Local gun dealers and sporting goods places are asking $499.00. I couldnt pass it up!

Brought it home, cleaned the factory goop out of it and gave it a nice, loving coat of Break Free. It's ready to go!! Now I get to play with it until next week when I can get to the range.

Also signed up for my third free range bag at www.shootingusa.com.

If you want a good deal on one and your near Denton Tx, checkout the A.J.C. Sports Shop booth. The show goes on through tomorrow (7/23/6). They are out of Clute, Tx and I think they make all the gun shows in this part of the country. Their phone number is 979 265-GUNS. Prices on the guns I knew enough about to compare were pretty good. 8)

Best Price At A.J.C sports Shop....

Great price!. Man, why can't I ever run in to those deals! :toimonster:

Actually when I went to the gun show I wasn't intending to buy anything but my wife has taken an interest in a 1911 Commander style and we wanted to look at a few. I've been wanting a M & P for a long time but I was thinking of just putting one on layaway and paying out the dealer price. I saw the price at A.J.C. and couldn't believe it.
I made several revolutions around the show kinda checking other dealer prices and realized I couldn't pass it up. I tried to resist but I'm just weak. What can I say! 8)

P.S. She didn't buy a 1911. There's a lot to know about them and it would be a good idea to do a little (or a lot of) research before buying. 1911 fans are very opinionated I've found, so there are a lot of opinions to sort through. :?

Now Taurus has come out with a economy PT1911, ( August, American Rifleman Mag.).MSRP is $600.00. I saw one of for $460.00 at A.J.C. Time will tell about that one.

Finally Got To Shoot It......

Today I finally got to slip away and shoot my MP40 that I bought on July 22nd. I really liked the way it handled but did not keep a very accurate accounting of it's (or my) accuracy but I know it was accurate. My groupings at different distances were quite good. The recoil was quite manageable. I can't wait to shoot it again under more controlled circumstances.
