I'm sure there are threads on this but I can't find them.

I would like something to soak and clean my M&P.

Cheaper than products sold as gun cleaners but of course safe for polymers and fiber optic sights.

And of course safe for human use.

SUGGESTIONS??

!. Kerosene

2. Soap and Water followed by thorough drying and light oil.

A little Hoppe's 9 in the barrel doesn't cost much over the long haul.

Can't get much cheaper or better than that. Just throw them in the dishwasher.

We used to clean our M16's in hot water all the time; of course we had access to "Industrial Strength" HOT water. You could literally make instant soup with it and still have to let it cool down enough to consume.

The dishwasher wouldn't be the worst of ideas....IF you remember not to put in any detergents, the ones for dishwashers are usually extremely harsh.

I've used Simple Green

It's a biodegradable solvent/cleaner you dilute with water.

I had one gun it did remove the bluing, but no issues with other guns. I have not tried it on my M&P
