Wish you and your friend the best of luck! I only thought of the 1911 since it was mentioned in the thread about the Sig P238 aka micro 1911 withouth the grip safety... I still love my 1911's and one day I'll pick one up in 9mm just for fun... and have something else in 9mm beside a plastic gun :)

Oh yes, do get a 1911 in 9mm. It's almost like shooting a .22 - close anyway. Hubby's 2 1911's are RIA and for the low price you get a LOT of gun - theya re really accurate shooters. You do have to totally detail strip them to clean off the dripping oil they come slathered in, but once that is done, you have beautifully functioning guns.
