I recently sent an email to Heinie regarding their Straight Eight sights for the M&P pistols and received the following reply.

Yes. We are trying to find machine time to run our first production on them. I am hoping to have sights in about 3 months.

Too bad it's going to be so long for them to have any available. I wonder who will be the first to market with over-the-counter night sights for our guns.

Sucks. Sara told me in an email on 2-26 that it would be 6-8 weeks. I'll believe them when I see them.

I just received an e-mail from Sarah today. She claimed that they've run into some "unexpected problems" with their production and that she can't provide an ETA for the sights.



Oh well. Time to start looking for a different supplier I guess.

Strange. How hard can it be to alter a sight design that's been around for years? Modify it for size and the proper M&P cut, figure out proper height front and rear and voila, done. Novak, 10-8 and others didn't run into any strange problems.
