Well I am pritty new here.. I have made a few posts but I have read more than I have posted. I got my MP40 about a week ago.... sence than I have modded it with a very nice tactictal light, and I plan on having a trigger job done some time soon. I have also shot 600 rounds of all diffrent types out of it with no problems at all.

Here are the pics of it:

Notice there is no clip on my rail to hold the light on.... I had fitment problems with every light I tried.... and actually this rifle light worked the best, was cheeper, and had a longer battery life. But I still had problems with it popping off with all the recoil.... or adjusting the spring on the lock and not being able to hardley get it off at all to change batts. etc. So I had to modify it a little which I will show below:

Here is the small mod I made to my rail.... Because I needed to make sure that everything was locked into the rail... I drilled 2 8mm holes and tapped them for 8x32 stainless set screws that go all the was into the light I have mounted to my gun. This not only removes the clip on the side of the light to elimiate any snag it might cause in a holster, but also makes a much stronger mount.

Humm, mine fit fine at first..... untill I took it out shooting and it popped off. I think the spring that holds it locked into the rail becomes loose under recoil because it is made for a long gun and not a pistol. Either way, I like my way now becasue it wont snag and it is a much stronger hold.
