One of the most senior (in terms of years with the company) guys at SIG left the company earlier this year to play a major role at the HK "factory" being built in New Hampshire. He had been instrumental in bringing the 556 into production for the civilian market.



It's my understanding that when (not "if" ... barring changes in Federal law) a commercial version of the 41x-series hits US dealers' shelves, it will be a made-in-the-USA product. As such, I'm not sure just how much weight to give the fact that a German-manufactured gun is being released for commercial sale within Germany.
