I am new to handguns, as ya'll can probably tell by this question. I am looking for a holster for my 9mm full size. I don't like the molded or plastic ones at all. My preference is leather and OWB. What I dont understand is the terminology oof these holsters. What is a paddle holster? I like the holsters that you run your belt thru them. The only drawback is the you have to unbuckle the belt to take the holster off. Is there any holsters that fit my criteria you can think of? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi tideguyinva,

Take a look at K&D Holsters ( http://kdholsters.com/ ). At the bottom of this page, http://kdholsters.com/basefile/owb-defend.html , there is a paddle holster. Is this what you are looking for? You would not have to undo your belt to put this on or take it off. The "paddle" fits between your pants and you, with the holster on the outside of your pants. This sounds like pretty much what you are looking for to me.

K&D make very nice holster also!! Give Kevin a call. He is great and will make you pretty much anything you would like.

BTW, welcome to the forums. We are glad that you are here!!

Hi, and welcome to the forum. You will undoubtedly find all the information you need from the members here. There are a lot of custom holster makers posting on the various forums, including this one. Kevin (K&D, link already provided), Gary Brommeland (Brommeland Gunleather, http://www.brommelandgunleather.com/index.htm), Eric at HBE (http://www.hbeleatherworks.com/welcome.html), Nate at UBG (http://ubgholsters.com/) come immediately to mind for leather holsters. Try their websites-or give them a call. They are all artists, and can talk you through your selection process.
