Hi Guys,



I just ordered my Dakota Defender from KD (up to 14 weeks at this point), and they asked me for my belt size.

I gave them the 1 1/4" size from my main leather belt. It's a sturdy belt, but not at all specifically a gun belt.



Do I need a specific gun belt? Would wearing the holster be significantly impaired if the clips are for a belt bigger then I'm wearing?



What width do you wear?

They are asking for the size of the clips I would imagine. If your clips are bigger than your belt, the holster will not be as stable and may even rise some on the draw. FWIW, I use a 1.5" belt.

1.5: i tried 1.75 but its just too big and most belt loops are just at if not little less then 1.75" makes it very hard to lace the belt not to mention even though most holsters say they will go 1.75" there tight and hard to lace the belt through.

1 1/4" for me. I don't notice a bit of difference between that & a 1 1/2" belt, jmho. A good gun belt is essential. Mine came from Beltman, but there are a lot of good ones out there. BTW, my main carry is an HK P2000 with a PM9 bug. I ordered my Milt Sparks for the MP 45 with the 1 1/4" loops & anticipate no problems. 8)
