Howdy from Washington State...

Hello All,

Just picked up my MP9 this afternoon. After downloading the instructions on the removal of the mag disconnector, I happened to find a 209301 SKU. No lock and no mag diconnector. This SKU is not listed in the '06 catalog, so I assume its either a later or a discontinued number. Should be all set to go with the addition of some after market night sights. Looking forward to the 9mm after ALOT of .40S&W (duty weapon) and my Dan Wesson .45 Patriot.

Thanks for reading and commenting.

My M&P 40 doesn't have the lock or the mag disconnect either. Great find and welcome to the site!
Welcome, I just purchased one one in .40. As I purchased it in Oregon, I'm waiting for it to be transferred to Washington. I'm a glock guy, but this looks like one sweet weapon...let's just say I made an impulse buy today and am hoping it is a shooter.

My only real question is in regards to durability as it's still quite new.
Welcome armdav8r!

There are some configurations not available to the public. I wonder if it not being in the catalog has something to with this?

Not sure about all the different sku numbers and what is or is not available to the public, but when I was buying this pistol I asked the dealer if he had one in stock that had not been on display. He poked around in back and produced mine. Was pretty happy to see that sku on the case as no other place I had shopped had one.

Mine does suffer from a loose front sight though. I was able to slide it off with my fingers. Cleaned up the dove tail, used a toothpick to add some locktite to the grooves and reinstalled. Will see if that helps as its off to the range today for it's maiden voyage. Got a return email from Novaks about replacement sights, so it will be a moot point soon anyhow.

Thanks for the replies, Gents.
209300 and 209301 are available to the public.

There are LE skus, but they are LE for pricing purposes and not for features. The ones I know of have night sigts and three magazines rather than two at a discounted price for LEOs. If i have been informed correctly, all LE skus come with 3 magazines.
I'm bringing this one back from the dead.

If that's the case then I just got shorted one magazine. I just picked up my M&P.40 today, SKU 209300, no magazine lock, no internal safety, standard sights, only 2 magazines.

Ok, 209300 and 209301 ARE NOT LEO SKUS. No mag safety is NOT AN LEO ONLY OPTION.

I forget the skus for LEO packages, but they do not begin with 209, and they come with 3 magazines and are discounted because they are not subject to exise tax.

You didn't get shorted anything.

With the new management, S&W is not behaving like they have before, and figure you are adult enough to decide if you want a child safety lock (well maybe, I haven't seen a shipping SKU that actually has the lock) or a mag disconnect or not.
