I joined the other day and am researching the M&P. I have a XD40SC and a Springfield 1911 Loaded SS 45. I've been selling a few guns and realized I may be running short & might need to buy something new

The only S&W pistol I've fired is my son-in-laws S&W 99 in 45 cal. I'm not really fond of it, much prefering my XD. He shot better with the XD, as well. From what I gather, the MP is a completely different gun from the 99. I did try the trigger on a 9mm full size the other day and thought it was pretty good. A little gritty but, from what I've read here, the trigger will improve with use and/or trigger work.

Welcome!
The M&P is an exellent gun. The trigger does start off gritty but is worlds different with use or a trigger job. After that it is smooth as warm butter making the ultimate gun, especially for the price.
