I just bought me an M&P-15……

I went to GT Distributors yesterday with the intent on purchasing an AR-15 rifle. I was leaning towards the Bushmaster M4 but when I grabbed hold of and messed with the M&P, I fell in love. I bought it and it’s great.

One Question to all the other owners out there. Was your take down pin a total B#[email protected] to push out? Oh my god and assembling is hard too.

It's pretty common for a civilian AR to be a tight fit when new, it will loosen up with use, I would rather it be tight than loose, close tolerances are good!

Hard?
Nothing on the M-4 is hard except removing a hand guard by yourself without a tool.

Its so damn easy an 18 year old girl can do it with ease!
They train'em every day!

Obtain a M-4 cleaning kit.

RTFM and have someone show you how one time. Then go home and do it 20 times....you will never forget.

Clean the trigger parts with de-coloranated brake cleaner (any auto parts store) so you dont have to take'em apart. Same for gas tube...just spray. It wont hurt anything...trust me.

Re-lube according to the manual!!

Roberto,

I'm not an AR guy (am more partial to .308's); but people who know would say you made the right call in choosing the M&P over the BM. S&W farmed out the machining to LMT or some other top tier maker with high quality control. Now you just need to score a bunch of ammo and good training. Keep us posted on how the rifle works out. The M&P interests me greatly and I've seen scant info thus far.

I took it out yesterday and put the first 250 rounds through it. Guy at the store told me to put about 500 rounds to break it in then sight it in. Shot great even without sighting it in it was hitting pretty damn close.

I love this M&P, I’ve been messing with it since I got it. We carry Rock River and Bushmaster’s at work and something about this gun just seems better. It’s like someone took a little more time making it, if you know what I mean.

Funny story, during the shooting a friend of mine went with me and he asked to shoot it. He pulls out a mag of his own that he didn’t realize had a tracer round in it and the grass behind the range caught fire….LOLOLOLOLOLOL……

An hour later after the fire department arrived to put it out we started shooting again.

So safe to say I won’t forget the first time I shot my M&P…LOLOLOLOLOLOL
