this came up in another thread that people were unsure which division the M&P should be in for IDPA competition.



I have recieved an email from a Pro competitor that shoots for S&W and shoots IDPA.



It has been ruled to be a SSP gun. But I guess you could shoot it in ESP as well.

I figured it would be with the XD as ESP, but this is good news!!!

I received an email answer from IDPA HQ,

It said that the official ruling is that the S&W M&P .40 is SSP legal. The claim is that the sear cams the striker rearward "slightly" before it releases. "All Area Coordinators have been notified."



I explained that the stock sear/hammer interface on my Para P14 cams the hammer slightly rearward before it releases, no response to my query on shooting it in SSP. :wink: :roll:
