After Ernest Langdon took the CDP Championship in 2003 shooting a P220ST, the rules were either "changed" or "clarified" (depending on one's point of view) in a way that put the P220ST over the weight limit.
Not many people know that Ernest, aware that his success all season had threatened a sacred cow or two with some folks at IDPA HQ, actually modified his P220ST (legally). He lightened it so that the pistol would meet the stricter weight rule. The gun he shot at IDPA Nationals in 2003 would actually still be legal today.
