Man..."excuuuusssseeeee meeeeeeeee!" I called a gun dealer in Sarasota asking if he had an M&P in stock...he about flamed my ear off about how Glock's control 84% of the market...S&W's suck...and nobody wants to carry S&W after what they pulled during the Clinton administration...

- I hope the M&P's take an enormous chunk out of this dude's Glock market -

As for me, I'm getting ready to order my M&P.40 shortly...can't wait -

To each his own, this guys sounds like a real nutsack though. I had a period where I did not want to buy S&W's but thought about it and realized that it would not help if the company went out of business. The change of ownership was also a relief. I think they are on to great things with the M&P as well as their revolvers. I could do without the lock on the revos but it will not completely keep me away from them.

Given the change in ownership and heart wrt the Clinton deal I wouldnot feel bad about buying SW product. As a mater of fact when the 45 comes out i will probably be picking one up and be veryhappy that I bought an American made product.

Now if the ownership was the same as those who made the deal, they could go pound sand for all I care. Dealing with the Devil is still dealing with the devil.

I found a lot of gun shops in Northern VA selling the S&W line despite the boycott. I did not find out about the boycott until recently. One web page claims that S & W requires gun purchasers to provide the seller with proof of firearms training. I purchased my handgun with 2 forms of ID and cash. I think it is a fine product and so far my encounters with S & W have all been positive.

The Clinton sell out was when S&W was foreign owned, that no longer applies so he needs to wake up and live in the present.

And here is an article about S&W coming back home to American ownership.

I for one am very proud to own a S&W product. But, back then, I was mad too!! I was thrilled to see Smith and Wesson get back into the fold.
