Hi all,

I just bought my M&P40 today (MPA6xxx). Brought it home, cleaned it and took it to the range. I put 50rds of Speer Gold Dot and 50rds CCI Speer Clean Fire through it w/ no hiccups. I like the gun a lot and look forward to much more practice. I've been carrying a Walther P99AS 9mm for the last year so it's taking a bit of practice to get acustomed to the new trigger. Fortunately it doesn't have any trigger grit, it's just a tad heavy. I'm used to having constant movement to fire on the trigger (double action) and having a such a defined pressure wall is a new sensation but I'm sure I'll get used to it. At first I was jerking the trigger and grouping about 2" low at 7yds but after about 70rds I was able to get a grip (pun intended) and bring the rounds back into the black. My best groups were in the 1-2" range at 7yds.

I've got several spare mags on order and I'm considering getting night sights. Any suggestions on a brand? Has anyone heard about the possibility of CT lasergrips? (So I don't get flamed I train without them but I don't mind having them along for the ride). I also have the pleasure of waiting for my BladeTech holsters to show up (about 5 weeks out) before I can get full use out of it. I'm planning on adding the M&P9c to my collection on Tuesday when it comes into the shop.

Thanks all for the input from this forum. I'm very pleased w/ my newest addition to the family!

Sincerely,

MC

Congrats.

Only night sights I know of right now are the factory NS. Hopefully that will change in the next few months.

CT grips will be out eventually. CT Customer Service says they will look into it, others say it is in the works already and may be out at SHOT. No flames from here as CT lasers are making many fans in training circles to aid in night shooting.

Congrats! The M&P 40 is now my favorite carry. I am now at 900 plus rounds without a single problem. WWB, Local commercial reloaded 165 FMJ for indoor, friends "special recipies", etc. They all feed and they all bang.

Good luck with yours.
