Large backstrap reduction

To help out a guy on another forum,

I reshaped a large backstrap so that the palmswells, the thickness was reduced to small/medium size, but the arch on the backstrap remained.

The result is that the pistol sits deeper into your hand, but frees up some room for your fingers, so the trigger is a bit shorter of a reach.

I guess it just the thing for you big palmed, short fingered folks.

Anyway, it's one more option for fine-tuning the ergonomics of these awesome pistols.

The loose backstrap in the photos is a medium, for comparison.

if you want it bigger... just keep wrapping duct tape around the handle until it's the thickness you desire. :idea:

A hogue grip would also work, but then I can't throw it in my ultrasonic, and I would prefer to still be able to remove the backstrap whenever I want without messing with that rubber sleeve.

Of course not until after your thesis defense is done. That brings back bad memories. Actually, defending it wasn't so bad. I think they passed me just to get rid of me. Anyway, good luck.

Pushed back the thesis defense til Feb. I can do one of these for you if'n you want.

I want to suck at the teat of the Great State of Oklahoma for one more semester.

OU offered to hire me in the Spring as an instructor for less money than they are currently paying for me as a graduate TA. I suddenly came down with writers block when I found that out.
