Does any one know if the M&P 40 rails are universal/picantany? I want a laser to mount on my M&P 40 (more so than a light) and Laser Max has a new model called UNI-MAX that fits a "universal" rail. I think it would be great if I could buy one laser and use it on different pistols. Any body got the skinny on this product? Thanks

I have an XD and an M&P and the rail on the M&P has much larger spaces between the gaps than the rail on the XD pistol. I have a weapon light made for the XD, which light also fits on a Glock fine, and the light also fits on my Beretta CX4 Storm Carbine rails. But, when I mount that light on the rail of the M&P pistol the light is loose and rattles alot, although it doesn't appear it would fall off.

I have heard that it fits fine. The light made for the XD (which also fits my CX4 Storm carbine rails and the XD however fits very, very loosely on the M&P). Next time I will buy the M3!

That's for sure. Especially since I paid $100 plus tax for it. I will likely keep it since it fits my CX4 storm rails just fine, but will buy the M3 or something I know will fit the M&P.
