Using both Ranier 115gr. FMJ and 147gr. FMJ.

Want to use either Unique or Bullseye or Power Pistol.

Would like it a little lighter than WWB. But must make power factor for SSP IDPA.

Please advise the charge weight and COL.

Thanks,

Mike

Anything that you get from the web should be used for reference and excepted as an opinion only. DO NOT EVER take someone's idea of a "GREAT" load and try it out without first doing your research. You should have a min. of three reloading reference books to compare and judge against. If not you are taking a huge risk!! I don't give out recipes to anyone, what works in my 6" 1911 in 40 may blow up your Glock 22 or etc.! Invest in a few "GOOD" books and read them like your life depended on it... it just may :?

My primary 9mm load for general shooting is 4.6 gr WW231 with a 115 gr jacketed bullet. My 9mm is a Beretta 92FS with a 4.9" barrel, I don't have a notation of the OAL of the cartridge.

4.6 gr WW231, 115 gr JHP, Federal primer, 70 degrees

Average vel 1089 fps

Standard deviation 20 fps

Second test the same day, same conditions

Average vel 1091 fps

Standard deviation 15 fps

My alternate load uses Unique

5.2 gr Unique, 115 gr JHP, Federal primer, 75 degrees

Average vel 1154 fps

Standard deviation 18 fps

You need 1087fps to make the SSP power floor with 115's and 851fps with 147's. Either is a walk in the park with any of the three powders you mentioned.

Here's Alliant's 115-grain data

and the 147-grain recipes
